Louis Prima (1910–1978) was an American singer, songwriter, and bandleader known for his energetic performances and fusion of genres such as jazz, swing, big band, and rhythm and blues. In the 1930s, he formed the group Louis Prima and His New Orleans Gang, and in the 1950s, he collaborated with vocalist Keely Smith and saxophonist Sam Butera, creating successful Las Vegas performances. His notable songs include "Sing, Sing, Sing," "Jump, Jive an' Wail," and "Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody." In 1958, he won a Grammy Award for "That Old Black Magic."
