Love Tractor is an American rock band formed in 1980 in Athens, Georgia. The group consisted of guitarists Mark Cline and Mike Richmond, and bassist Armistead Wellford, who were students at the University of Georgia. Love Tractor is considered one of the founders of the Athens alternative rock scene, alongside bands like The B-52's, Pylon, and R.E.M. Their 1982 debut album, "Love Tractor," was entirely instrumental and received acclaim for its unique blend of rock, post-punk, and art-rock. In 1983, they released "Around the Bend," which featured the track "Spin Your Partner" accompanied by a popular MTV music video. The band continued to create and release music, issuing a remastered version of "Around the Bend" in 2023 to commemorate its 40th anniversary.
