The Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra is a Swiss ensemble dedicated to the performance of contemporary classical music. Founded in 2004 by French composer and conductor Pierre Boulez and festival artistic director Michael Haefliger, the orchestra is part of the Lucerne Festival Academy, which each summer gathers approximately 100 talented young musicians from around the world to focus on 20th and 21st-century repertoire. Their programs feature works by composers such as Gustav Mahler, Igor Stravinsky, and Anton Webern. The orchestra regularly collaborates with renowned conductors and soloists, including Sir Simon Rattle and Anne-Sophie Mutter.
