Lucky Dube was a South African reggae singer and songwriter known for his socially conscious lyrics and criticism of apartheid. His 1989 album "Prisoner" is considered his most significant work, featuring tracks like "War and Crime" and "Remember Me". Throughout his career, he released over ten reggae albums and gained international recognition. In 1996, he was honored as the best-selling African artist at the World Music Awards. Dube was murdered in 2007 during a carjacking attempt in Johannesburg.
