Ľudmila Podjavorinská was a Slovak writer and poet, recognized as the first woman in Slovakia to publish a poetry collection. Her debut collection, 'Z vesny života,' was released in 1895. In her prose work, she focused on realistic tendencies, with notable novellas including 'V otroctve' (1905), 'Blud' (1906), and 'Žena' (1909). Podjavorinská is also considered a founder of modern Slovak children's literature, with works like 'Zajko-Bojko' (1930) and 'Čin-Čin' (1943) remaining popular.
