Maarten Ornstein is a Dutch musician born in 1967 in Amstelveen. He plays tenor saxophone, clarinet, and bass clarinet, and works as a composer and arranger. His musical career includes collaborations with various groups such as New Cool Collective and SFeQ. In 1999, he released an album with the W.A.R.P. Music Ensemble. In 2004, he founded the free-funk band DASH!, with which he released four albums between 2006 and 2015. He has collaborated with artists like Tony Overwater and Mike Fentross. In 2022, he and Fentross received the Willem Breuker Prijs for their duo, which blends old and new musical cultures from different parts of the world.
