Magic Slim, born Morris Holt in 1937 in Torrance, Mississippi, was an American blues singer and guitarist. After a cotton field accident, he switched from piano to guitar and moved to Chicago in 1955, becoming part of the blues scene. In 1970, he formed the band The Teardrops, which included his brother Nick Holt. Notable albums include "Black Tornado" (1998) and "Snakebite" (2000). Magic Slim was recognized for his contributions to Chicago blues and was posthumously inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2017.
