Mahan Esfahani is an Iranian-American harpsichordist born in Tehran in 1984. He studied musicology and history at Stanford University, where he began harpsichord lessons with Elaine Thornburgh. He later continued his studies with Peter Watchorn in Boston and Zuzana Růžičková in Prague. Esfahani is renowned for his interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach's works, including albums such as "J.S. Bach: Preludes, Inventions & Sinfonias" (2024) and "J.S. Bach: Italian Concerto, French Overture, Capriccii" (2022). In 2011, he became the first harpsichordist to perform a full solo recital at the BBC Proms.
