Maja Weber is a Swiss cellist born in 1974 into a family of musicians. She studied at the Winterthur Conservatory and later in Cologne under Frans Helmerson. In 1987, she co-founded the Amar Quartet, which has gained international recognition. In 2019, she recorded the complete Bach Cello Suites on the 1717 Stradivari cello "Bonamy Dobrée-Suggia." This instrument is part of the Swiss Stradivari Foundation Habisreutinger collection. Maja Weber is also a member of Duo Leonore, where she plays the cello.
