Marc Minkowski is a French conductor and founder of the ensemble Les Musiciens du Louvre, specializing in historically informed performances of Baroque and Classical music. Born in Paris, he studied bassoon and conducting. In 1982, he established Les Musiciens du Louvre, with whom he has recorded and performed works by composers such as Rameau, Lully, Handel, and Mozart. His recordings of Mozart's 'Mitridate, re di Ponto' and Rameau's 'Platée' have received international acclaim. Minkowski has also collaborated with major opera houses and orchestras worldwide.
