María Dueñas is a Spanish violinist born in Granada in 2002. She began playing the violin at the age of six and later studied at the conservatory in Granada. In 2014, she received a scholarship to study abroad and moved to Dresden, where she attended the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music. She later continued her studies with Professor Boris Kuschnir in Vienna and Graz. In 2021, she won the first prize in the senior category at the Menuhin Competition. In 2022, she signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon and released her debut album "Beethoven and Beyond" in 2023. She has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Staatskapelle Berlin under conductors like Gustavo Dudamel and Manfred Honeck. In addition to performing, she is also a composer; her piano piece "Farewell" won an award in 2016. She plays on a 1774 Nicolò Gagliano violin and the 1710 Stradivari "Camposelice".
