Martin Wind is a German double bassist and composer born in 1968 in Flensburg. In 1996, he moved to New York City, where he earned a master's degree in jazz performance and composition from New York University. He has released over 20 albums as a leader or co-leader, including "Gone with the Wind" (1993), "Salt'n Pepper!" (2008), and "White Noise" (2020). Wind has collaborated with artists such as Philip Catherine and Ack van Rooyen. In 2000, he received the Cultural Award of his home state, Schleswig-Holstein.
