Martina McBride is an American country singer and songwriter known for her soprano voice and country pop style. Born in Sharon, Kansas, she moved to Nashville in 1989. In 1991, she signed with RCA Records and debuted with the single "The Time Has Come." Her notable albums include "The Way That I Am" and "Wild Angels." Her single "Independence Day" won Video of the Year and Song of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards. McBride has been named Female Vocalist of the Year four times at the CMA Awards and three times at the Academy of Country Music Awards. In 1995, she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry.
