Mavis Staples is an American rhythm and blues and gospel singer who began her career in the 1950s as a member of the family group The Staple Singers. The group achieved success with hits like "I'll Take You There" and "Let's Do It Again". In 1969, she released her first solo album and has since continued recording and collaborating with artists such as Prince and Bob Dylan. Her 2010 album "You Are Not Alone" won the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album. In 1999, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Staple Singers.
