Max Champion was an early 20th-century English Music Hall artist, born in 1882 in London's East End. He is believed to have been related to Victorian entertainer Harry Champion. During his career, he performed alongside notable artists such as Gus Elen and Vesta Tilley. His career was cut short by World War I, during which he likely perished in Belgium. In 2014, his sheet music was discovered, leading to a revival of his music. In 2023, Joe Jackson released the album 'What A Racket!', presenting 11 of Champion's songs for the first time in over a century.
