Maxim Emelyanychev is a Russian conductor and pianist born in 1988 in Dzerzhinsk. He studied conducting at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Gennady Rozhdestvensky. In 2013, he became the chief conductor of Il Pomo d'Oro, and since the 2019/2020 season, he has been the principal conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Notable recordings include "In War and Peace: Harmony through Music" with Joyce DiDonato, which won the Gramophone Award in 2017, and "Mozart: Piano Sonatas," awarded the Choc de Classica in 2018.
