Mayo Thompson is an American musician best known as the leader of the experimental group The Red Krayola. In 1970, he released his only solo album, "Corky's Debt to His Father," recorded in Houston with local session musicians. The album was initially released on the independent label Texas Revolution but, due to limited distribution, became a cult favorite among music enthusiasts. Thompson's music is characterized by an eclectic approach to folk rock and experimental sounds, influencing many artists in subsequent decades.
