Mélissa Laveaux is a Canadian singer-songwriter of Haitian descent, known for her unique style that blends indie rock, folk rock, and pop rock. Born in Montreal and raised in Ottawa, Laveaux released her debut album "Camphor & Copper" in 2006. This was followed by "Dying Is a Wild Night" (2013) and "Radyo Siwèl" (2018), the latter being long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize. In 2022, she released "Mama Forgot Her Name Was Miracle". Laveaux is recognized for her percussive guitar style and sensual vocals, with her music influenced by her Haitian roots, incorporating elements of blues and folk.
