METZ is a Canadian punk rock band formed in 2007 in Ottawa, later relocating to Toronto. The band consists of guitarist and vocalist Alex Edkins, bassist Chris Slorach, and drummer Hayden Menzies. Their debut album, "METZ," was released in 2012 under the Sub Pop label and was long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize in 2013. Subsequent albums include "II" (2015), "Strange Peace" (2017), "Atlas Vending" (2020), and "Up on Gravity Hill" (2024). The band is known for their intense sound, blending elements of noise rock, post-hardcore, and post-punk. Following the release of "Up on Gravity Hill" in 2024, the band announced an indefinite hiatus. The products available from the artist METZ include vinyls, CDs.
