Michael Abels is an American composer known for his work on director Jordan Peele's films, including "Get Out" (2017), "Us" (2019), and "Nope" (2022). His score for "Us" won the World Soundtrack Award and was named "Score of the Decade" by TheWrap. Abels is also the co-composer of the opera "Omar" with Rhiannon Giddens, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2023. His orchestral works have been performed by ensembles such as the Chicago Symphony and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
