Michael Gibbs is an English jazz composer, conductor, arranger, and producer, born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He studied at Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory. Gibbs is known for his collaborations with vibraphonist Gary Burton and for incorporating rock elements into orchestral jazz. His notable albums include "Michael Gibbs" (1970), "Tanglewood 63" (1971), and "Just Ahead" (1972). In 2017, he received an honorary doctorate of music from Berklee College of Music.
