Michael Waldrop is an American drummer, percussionist, composer, and music educator known for his virtuosity in jazz and classical genres. As the leader of the Michael Waldrop Big Band, he has released albums such as "Time Within Itself" (2015) and "Origin Suite" (2018), both receiving international acclaim. Waldrop is also a member of the Jazz Orchestra of the Delta and has collaborated with artists like Randy Brecker and Eliane Elias. He serves as a professor of percussion at Eastern Washington University and is an artist for Yamaha and Vic Firth.
