Midlake is an American folk rock band from Denton, Texas, formed in 1999. Originally composed of students from the University of North Texas's jazz program, the band released their debut album, "Bamnan and Slivercork," in 2004. This was followed by "The Trials of Van Occupanther" in 2006, featuring the single "Roscoe." In 2010, they released "The Courage of Others," and after the departure of lead vocalist Tim Smith, they released "Antiphon" in 2013. In 2022, they released "For the Sake of Bethel Woods." Their music blends elements of alternative rock, folk rock, and psychedelic rock.
