Milt Jackson was an American jazz vibraphonist known for his swinging solos and collaborations with hard bop and post-bop musicians. As a member of the Modern Jazz Quartet, his blues-infused improvisations shaped the group's sound. Jackson worked with artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and Thelonious Monk. Notable recordings include "Bags' Groove" and "Plenty, Plenty Soul". His composition "Bags' Groove" became a jazz standard. Jackson received an honorary Doctorate of Music from Berklee College of Music and was inducted into the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame.
