Milton Brown was an American bandleader and vocalist, considered one of the founders of Western swing. Born in Stephenville, Texas, he began his musical career in 1930 with Bob Wills and Herman Arnspiger. Together, they formed the Light Crust Doughboys, which Brown later left to establish his own band, the Musical Brownies. This group was known for its unique blend of country, jazz, and pop. Among their most notable songs are "St. Louis Blues" and "Taking Off". Brown's career was prematurely ended in 1936 due to a fatal car accident.
