Minny Pops is a Dutch electronic and post-punk band formed in Amsterdam in 1978 by Wally van Middendorp. The band's name is derived from the Korg Mini Pops drum machine. Their debut album, "Drastic Measures, Drastic Movement," was released in 1979 under the independent label Plurex. In 1980, they signed with Factory Records, releasing singles like "Dolphin's Spurt" and the album "Sparks in a Dark Room" in 1982. Minny Pops were the first Dutch band to record a session for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show. After disbanding in 1985, the band reunited in 2012 and 2014, continuing to produce new material.
