Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla is a Lithuanian conductor known for her work with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, where she served as music director from 2016. She studied conducting in Graz and Leipzig, gaining recognition for her interpretations of works by Weinberg and Tchaikovsky. Her recording of Weinberg's Symphonies Nos. 2 and 21 won the Gramophone Recording of the Year award. She has collaborated with prominent orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2019, she received the Opus Klassik Conductor of the Year award.
