Mose Allison was an American jazz and blues pianist, singer, and songwriter, known for his unique blend of blues and modern jazz. After moving to New York in 1956, he collaborated with artists such as Stan Getz, Al Cohn, and Zoot Sims. His debut album, "Back Country Suite," was released in 1957. Allison wrote approximately 150 songs, many of which influenced artists like The Who, John Mayall, and The Clash. In 2012, he was honored with a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail in his hometown of Tippo.
