My Dad Is Dead was a musical project by Mark Edwards, formed in Cleveland in 1984. Edwards, originally a drummer in the bands Thermos of Happiness and Riot Architecture, began playing guitar and composing music under this name after those bands dissolved. Throughout his career, he released twelve albums, including "...And He's Not Gonna Take It Anymore" (1986) and "Peace, Love & Murder" (1987). The project's musical style encompassed post-punk, indie rock, and college rock. The project officially ended in 2011, after which Edwards formed a new group called Secular Joy.
