Naïssam Jalal is a French flutist and composer of Syrian descent, renowned for her ability to blend various musical cultures and styles. In May 2025, she released her tenth album, "Souffles," featuring eight duets with prominent jazz musicians such as Archie Shepp, Yom, and Louis Sclavis. The album was recorded between November 2021 and January 2025 in Montreuil, France. In 2023, Naïssam Jalal was appointed a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture, and in 2024, she was named "Best Flutist of the Year" for the third time since 2021 by Jazz Magazine and Jazz News.
