Their debut album, 'Independent Leaders', was released in 1989 under the name The New Style. In 1991, they achieved commercial success with the album 'Naughty by Nature', which included the hit 'O.P.P.'. Subsequent albums '19 Naughty III' (1993) and 'Poverty's Paradise' (1995) solidified their position in the hip-hop scene. 'Poverty's Paradise' won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 1996.
