Neba Solo (born 1969), also known as Souleymane Traoré, is a master of the pentatonic Senufo balafon from Mali. He transformed traditional music by designing and building a larger bass instrument, incorporating it into larger ensembles, and introducing bass figures inspired by reggae. Brehima "Benego" Diakité (born 1965) is a master of the kamel n'goni, a youth harp that is a secularized version of the donso n'goni, the hunter's harp. In 1985, he co-founded Oumou Sangaré's band and significantly contributed to her debut album "Moussolou." Together, they released the album "A Djinn and a Hunter Went Walking" in 2026, which combines the balafon and donso n'goni in a unique musical collaboration.
