Nightbearer is a German death metal band from Paderborn, founded in 2017 by Michael Torka and Dominik Hellmuth. Their music is influenced by Swedish melodic death metal and fantasy and horror literature. Their debut album, "Tales of Sorcery and Death," was released in 2019 under Testimony Records. In 2022, they released "Ghosts of a Darkness to Come," inspired by Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" series. Their third album, "Defiance," released in 2025, draws from Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" trilogy. The band is known for their signature HM-2 guitar sound and atmospheric elements.
