Nils Kugelmann Trio is a German jazz ensemble led by double bassist and composer Nils Kugelmann. The trio consists of Nils Kugelmann on double bass, Luca Zambito on piano, and Sebastian Wolfgruber on drums. Their debut album, "Stormy Beauty," was released in June 2023 under the ACT label and was nominated for the "Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik." Their second album, "Life Score," was released on April 25, 2025. The trio's music is characterized by strong melodies, dynamic interplay, and influences from classical music. Nils Kugelmann has received awards such as the "BMW Young Artist Jazz Award" and the "European Young Artist Jazz Award Burghausen 2023."
