Nokturnal Mortum is a Ukrainian black metal band from Kharkiv, formed in 1994. Originally starting as a death metal band named Suppuration, they later changed their name to Crystaline Darkness and eventually to Nokturnal Mortum. Their 1997 debut album, "Goat Horns," combined traditional Ukrainian folk elements with black metal. Notable albums include "To the Gates of Blasphemous Fire" (1998), "Nechrist" (1999), and "The Voice of Steel" (2009). The band is known for their symphonic black metal style with folk metal influences. Over the years, they have undergone several lineup changes, with Knjaz Varggoth remaining a central member.
