Nucleus was a British jazz-fusion band formed in 1969 by trumpeter Ian Carr. Their 1970 debut album, "Elastic Rock," is considered pioneering in the jazz-fusion genre. The band won first prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1970 and performed at the Newport Jazz Festival and the Village Gate club. Notable albums include "We'll Talk About It Later" (1970), "Solar Plexus" (1971), and "Belladonna" (1972). Nucleus influenced many musicians and remains a significant part of jazz-fusion history.
