Born in 1990 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, she began her music career as the lead vocalist and guitarist for The Black Belles, who released their debut album in 2011. After the band's dissolution, Jean pursued a solo career, releasing albums "Bathtub Love Killings" (2014), "Night Owl" (2019), and "Raving Ghost" (2023).
