Orfeo Orchestra is a Hungarian ensemble specializing in historically informed performances of Baroque and Classical music. Founded in 1991 by conductor György Vashegyi, the orchestra focuses on authentic renditions of works by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, and Jean-Philippe Rameau. Orfeo Orchestra regularly collaborates with the Purcell Choir, another ensemble led by Vashegyi, and together they have recorded and released several acclaimed recordings. The ensemble performs at international festivals and concert venues, contributing to the revival of historical music in Hungary and abroad.
