The CD release of "Walking the Blues" by Otis Spann, one of the greatest blues pianists of all time, is scheduled for November 15, 2024. This album, recorded in August 1960 in New York, was originally released in 1972, two years after Spann's untimely death. The recording features Robert Lockwood Jr., guitarist from Muddy Waters' band, and James Oden, known as St. Louis Jimmy. The album offers an authentic blues experience, where Spann's pulsing two-handed rhythmic style blends barrelhouse piano techniques with modern Chicago blues.
