Paolo Giacometti is an Italian pianist born in 1970 in Milan, who has lived in the Netherlands since early childhood. He studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam under Jan Wijn, graduating with the highest distinction. His discography includes the complete piano works of Gioachino Rossini and collaborations with cellist Pieter Wispelwey. Giacometti has performed in prestigious venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. In addition to his solo career, he is active in chamber music, collaborating with artists like Janine Jansen and Viktoria Mullova. He currently teaches at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.
