Parry Karp is an American cellist and professor of chamber music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been a member of the Pro Arte Quartet for over 49 years, the longest tenure in the ensemble's over 100-year history. Karp is an active soloist, performing numerous recitals annually across the United States. In 2002, he debuted in Romania with Ernest Bloch's "Schelomo" alongside the National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest. His discography includes over two dozen recordings, featuring the complete string quartets of Ernest Bloch, Miklós Rózsa, and Karol Szymanowski. Karp is also known for his transcriptions of works for cello, including sonatas by Brahms and Beethoven. The products available from the artist Parry Karp include CDs.
