Paul Kantner was an American rock musician, known as the co-founder and rhythm guitarist of Jefferson Airplane. In 1970, during a hiatus from Jefferson Airplane, Kantner released the concept album "Blows Against the Empire" under the name Paul Kantner and Jefferson Starship. This Hugo Award-nominated album tells the story of a group who hijack a starship to find a new home in space.
