Pavement is an American indie rock band formed in 1989 in Stockton, California. The original lineup consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals, guitar), Scott Kannberg (guitar, vocals), Mark Ibold (bass guitar), Steve West (drums), and Bob Nastanovich (percussion, synthesizers, vocals). The band is known for their lo-fi sound and informal approach to music. Their most notable albums include "Slanted and Enchanted" (1992), "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" (1994), and "Wowee Zowee" (1995). Pavement disbanded in 1999 but reunited for tours in 2010 and 2022.
