Peter Matthew Bauer is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter, known as the bassist and organist of the indie rock band The Walkmen, with whom he recorded seven studio albums. After the band's hiatus in 2014, he released his first solo album, "Liberation!", followed by "Mount Qaf" in 2017 and "Flowers" in 2022. His music blends elements of indie rock and alternative rock, drawing inspiration from his childhood spent in ashrams and explorations of Eastern spirituality. Bauer also founded his own record label and management company, Fortune Tellers, representing various artists.
