Peter Warlock, born Philip Heseltine, was an English composer and music critic renowned for his songs and editions of Elizabethan music. Largely self-taught, he received encouragement from composers Frederick Delius and Bernard van Dieren. In 1920, he founded the music journal The Sackbut. His notable works include the song cycles Lilligay (1923), The Curlew (1924), and Candlelight (1924), as well as the Capriol Suite for string orchestra (1927). Warlock's compositions are influenced by Elizabethan music and his distinctive style, combining melodicism with unique harmonies. The products available from the artist Peter Warlock include CDs.
