Plas Johnson is an American jazz saxophonist, best known as the soloist on Henry Mancini's "The Pink Panther Theme." Born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, he began his career in New Orleans with his brother Ray. In the 1950s, he moved to Los Angeles, becoming a sought-after session musician, collaborating with artists such as B.B. King, Johnny Otis, and Peggy Lee. His notable albums include "This Must Be the Plas" (1959) and "Mood for the Blues" (1960).
