Poly Styrene was a British singer and songwriter, best known as the frontwoman of the punk band X-Ray Spex. In 1980, she released her first solo album, "Translucence," which marked a departure from punk to a softer, jazz-influenced style. She later released albums "Generation Indigo" and "Flower Aeroplane." Her music influenced many artists in the punk and post-punk scenes. Poly Styrene passed away in 2011.
