Porcupine Tree is an English progressive rock band formed in 1987 by Steven Wilson. Initially a solo project, Wilson later added Richard Barbieri (keyboards), Colin Edwin (bass guitar), and Chris Maitland (drums) to form a stable lineup. The band is known for its eclectic style, encompassing progressive rock, progressive metal, and experimental rock. Notable albums include "In Absentia" (2002), "Deadwing" (2005), and "Fear of a Blank Planet" (2007). After a hiatus in 2010, they returned in 2021 with the album "Closure/Continuation". Throughout their career, they have collaborated with artists such as Alex Lifeson of Rush and Robert Fripp of King Crimson.
