Public Image Ltd (PiL) is an English post-punk band formed in 1978 by John Lydon after his departure from the Sex Pistols. Their debut album, "Public Image: First Issue" (1978), introduced their experimental sound, which further evolved on "Metal Box" (1979), considered a seminal album of the post-punk era. Over the years, the band underwent several lineup changes, with Lydon remaining the sole constant member. In 2023, they released their eleventh studio album, "End of World".
