Purple Hearts are an English mod revival band formed in 1977 in Romford, East London. The original lineup consisted of Jeff Shadbolt (bass guitar), Simon Stebbing (guitar), Bob Manton (vocals), and Nick Lake (drums). In 1979, they released their debut single "Millions Like Us," which reached number 57 on the UK Singles Chart. Their first album, "Beat That!," was released in 1980 under the production of Chris Parry. The band disbanded in 1982 but reunited several times, releasing the compilation "Extraordinary Sensations: Studio & Live 1979-1986" in 2024.
